NZPFRA - Schedule for Training/Competition Weekend April 9th/10th 2011
Here is the schedule we are working towards.
Saturday 9th April - Flight Planning and Course Flying Phase
09:00 Organising Group Arrive. Competitors who are flying in start to arrive. Meet at the Matamata Aero Club
09:30 Welcome from NZ Precision Flying Association and commencement of training session. All newcomers to Precision Flying can learn the techniques from existing members who have attended previous World Championship events.
11:30 Flight planning for the training event begins.
Bring all your usual flight planning equipment (charts, rulers, protractors, E6Bs etc.) We will work out a flight order that allows for those sharing aircraft to be accommodated. Each aircraft will fly with a self-contained GPS Tracker provided by the association on-board. Aircraft GPS units should not be used during competition flight.
Flying will commence after flight planning as numbers of competitors allow and will probably continue until roughly 5pm. Please be flexible and prepared to go when required. As Matamata is a reasonable distance from any shops, it is probably a good idea to bring food and drink to keep you going.
17:30 Scoring completed, announcements of results and review of issues. We aim to be finished by 18:00
Sunday 10th April - Precision Flying Spot Landing phase
09:00 Briefing for all competitors. Those flying in need to plan to be at Matamata by this time.
09:30 Spot Landings commence. There is a gliding camp on this weekend and we want to be finished early so as not to impinge on their event.
11:00 Spot Landings finish (Good opportunity for a lunch break)
12:00 Results announced
13:00 NZPFRA Annual General Meeting - all competitors welcome to attend
If you have any queries about the event or have yet to let us know that you wish to compete, please reply as soon as possible and we will try to sort you out.
Hope to see you there
